NorriWire helps people in the Baltic and Nordic regions navigate the crypto services market — exchanges, cards, hardware wallets, tax tools, and regulation. We don’t provide financial advice and we don’t trade cryptocurrencies. We compare and educate.
Why we do this
Most crypto content online is written in English, with assumptions that fit a US or global context but rarely the Baltic or Nordic user. Europe’s MiCA regulation, fully applicable since December 2024, has produced a specific landscape across EU member states that local media practically never covers.
A user in Latvia, Lithuania, or Estonia trying to decide between Coinmotion (FI), Kvarn X (SE), Northcrypto (FI), Bitstamp (LU), or Kraken (US, EU branch) faces a deep shortage of locally-relevant information about fees, MiCA status, tax implications, and security practices.
NorriWire is the missing layer. We produce in-depth, independent reviews in regional context, compare local players against global ones, and continuously update the data when licenses, fees, or market conditions change.
How we work
For each category (exchange, card, wallet, tax tool) we apply a consistent methodology:
- Fact gathering: fees, licenses, supported countries — from official sources (regulator registries, the provider’s own website, fee schedules).
- Hands-on verification: where possible, we sign up ourselves and verify the UX, the KYC process, and actual fees.
- Baltic/Nordic context: SEPA support, BankID, language availability, integrations with local tax tools.
- Editorial review: every review is checked at least twice before publishing.
- AI disclosure: if AI assists with a draft, we say so clearly at the bottom of the review.
How we earn
NorriWire earns revenue from affiliate partnerships with selected exchanges, cards, and tax tools. This means that if you sign up for a service through a link on our site, NorriWire may receive a small commission from the provider. There is no extra cost to you.
Affiliate partnerships do not influence our ratings. We also review platforms we have no affiliate deal with (and in some cases give them better ratings than partners). Every review carries a clear note about whether the page contains affiliate links.
